Devlog 6

We are finally back after a two week vacation and creaweek (some artsy activities and game jam) and ready to continue greatness! We all managed to contribute new updates to our project over the vacation, and the coming weeks the work schedule will 

ART

The work on the animations is going quite rough. The animations are all imported but the code base and checking the values is not working as intended. 

While stuck on the animations the VFX research and work has begun. A first particle effect has been made.

Texturing the hero assets is going a bit slower than we hoped, since figuring out how to implement the ability to change the colour of only one specific part of a texture did not work the way we hoped it would. But we are very close to a solution, I can feel it! 

The Main Station on the other hand is fully textured now, since it will not be colour coded and isn’t held back by that roadblock. This station will sit in the middle of each level, ready to be pumped for oil.

Gameplay

Shooting

The shooting behaviour has changed a bit.
Charging has been reworked to make it more fun and easier to use.
This involves a slow based on how much charge the player has.
Shooting doesn’t cost any energy anymore. The only thing that is still preventing a player from spamming their shoot button is a cooldown.

Movement

The depleted movement penalty(when out of energy) has been reduced a lot to punish players less.

Lives

Lives have been added(for now 3) which players can lose by getting shot or running in to environment while linked.
Once a player's lives are 0, he will get deactivated for a few seconds and teleport to his base.
If a player has enough energy left in his base he can respawn and if not, then you are out!

Gamemode

Scores for each team have been added, one a player reaches the max score(100) the game stops and that player wins.
Score can be aquired by killing other players or every x seconds while your base station has energy. The more energy it has, the more score you will get!

The gamemode also has a timer now,  when finished the player with the highest score wins.

HUD

Basic HUD for team scores and a timer have been added.
3D energy and live representation have been added.
